At Cordova Bay United Church, you will find a range of opportunities for spiritual growth and for relating Christian faith to your daily life.

Sunday Worship

Sunday worship is a primary focus of our church. It begins at 10 am and is a time to celebrate God’s presence. Afterwards, we gather for coffee/tea and lively conversation. We believe that our faith tradition is not meant to be dull or irrelevant. We strive to make our services joyful and meaningful for situations in today’s world.

During one of our Sunday services, you will notice that there are many ways to worship: such as listening to scripture from the bible, listening to preaching from the pulpit, taking part in sacraments such as communion, singing joyfully, and listening to inspirational music.

We believe that children are a gift from God. Children have a significant role in the life and worship of our church.

We want to be a sacred place of caring and to be an inspirational community. We are committed to providing opportunities, leadership and education for people to grow in their Christian faith.

Children and Youth Programs

In addition to worship, we have a Sunday School Program (Club D 6:5) for youth ages 3 and up, a nursery for those under 3 years, youth groups, a youth choir and band. Upon arrival, children and youth are welcome to sit with parents or friends or at the craft table in the Sanctuary. They are invited to come forward during service for a story and a time of faith exploration. Next, we move to the Hall for community time with music, stories, prayer and offering. We then go to our club rooms, which are found on the lower level.

What does D 6:5 stand for? It is passage from the Hebrew Scriptures; Deuteronomy 6:5, ‘Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.’
